Great Oaks support people living within the Forest of Dean who have a life limiting illness. Care is also provided for those closely involved.
We currently offer the following:

Community
- With a facility that complements and improves community services
- By giving specific support to those left vulnerable by their medical diagnosis and coping with life limiting conditions
- By providing an opportunity for local people to participate in its activities: on the committee, as volunteers, working with patients or in the shops, as fund raisers, as visiting speakers
Patients
- Keep themselves feeling well
- Meet others with similar problems
- Maximize their self-reliance, minimize dependency
- Try new skills, revisit old talents
- Enjoy complementary therapies that aid relaxation and the chance to talk
- Understand their disease and how to live with it
- Find out about what other services/benefits are available
- Improve their self-esteem and confidence, feel positive again and help them have "time out" from their illness
